The History of ImageAbility

ImageAbility has been in operation since 1989. Started as a bootstrap operation after the principles left a high technology networking company in 1989.  The concept came from a chapter in a book, Steve Young wrote on color imaging and networking. Acquiring equipment and building a customer base in the early nineties we exploded from a startup to a growth company.

Striking up strategic relationships with customers and implementing the technology of imaging to create color products provided growth and notoriety in the industry.  So dynamic were our efforts, we were written about in many journals and Magazines.

Recognizing we were in the imaging business we adapted and changed from presentation graphics to large format imaging in the mid 90's. Our competitors we challenged as a startup failed to change and evaporated from the field.  Recognizing that companies buy products not imaging, we produced prints, tradeshow displays, point of purchases displays, store displays, banners, plaques, stickers, historical restorations, museum graphics, truck imaging, signage, magnetic displays, framed and matted artwork, virtually anything a customer may ask for that our equipment could produce. Working with a company relocating to our area we provided materials that were used to help market them locally. This resulted in a vertical market providing aerial imaging and related materials to several companies, and engineering firms throughout North and Central America.

In 1999 ImageAbility was asked to restore and image nearly one hundred displays for the Mount Washington Hotel and Resort.  The project was extremely successful; the images are still viewed by guests from around the world as they are taken on guided tours of the hotel every day.  Providing historical restorations and imaging of turn of the century displays for many more customers sparked the concept for renovation of our new post and beam production facilities.

Corporate Philosophy

ImageAbility donates 30% of it's product to the community. The staff also provide countless hours of labor and community service each and every day. The local community and press have graciously recognized our principals many times over the last decade for their support.

Color Imaging and Networking

The reality of ImageAbility took place when Steve Young wrote, Applications for Local Area Networks published by Auerbach Publishing in 1989. The book outlined the end of proprietary applications and open networks and software applications.

INC Magazine

After developing relationships with imaging vendors and being included in popular graphics software packages as a premier imaging supplier a bulletin board system was installed prior to the days of the internet. INC. reported on our successes.

Another Cover Story

While being interviewed and photographed for PC TODAY in the early 90's the photographer was looking for a way to get a "cover photo". With the newest graphic technology available, ImageAbility was able to provide an image of our founder shaking hands with a customer.
